We are happy to tell you that Pekka Haavisto is Armas’ guardian this year as well! Haavisto will be opening Liisa Takala’s exhibition organized during the ARMAS festival week on Tuesday 19th of March at 5 p.m.

Greetings from Haavisto:
Art and culture give strength even in difficult times. Enjoying music, visual arts or a theater performance takes you away from everyday life for a while and awakens you to think about new perspectives. A good work of art takes the listener, viewer or viewer to a different kind of reality for a moment.

Art and culture are equal – they do not ask about past experiences or the number of years of life. Everyone has the opportunity to experience the magic dust of art for a moment.

The Armas festival brings together artists, actors in the art field, art institutions, organizations for the elderly and municipal actors. Armas proves in its part the old Finnish wisdom – “a lifetime lived in storage“.

It is an honor to act as a guardian of the Armas festival in the spring of 2024. I wish every guest and creator of the festival happy moments with art.
